Our TV didn’t survive the move so I’m looking for help in playing my SNES console on my laptop. I’d rather try this new territory of tech than go the emulator route, since I plan to continue collecting carts going forward.

I’ve got an ASUS laptop with Windows 8 OS.

I’ve got the standard SNES rf switch, so I’m thinking all I lack is a tv tuner and downloading the appropriate software. Any advice for this tech noob?

Thanks.

Look at the following video to see if this may work for you. A comment suggests some lag during gamplay.

Thanks for posting.

It was actually that kid’s vid that put the tv tuner + software on my radar. I’m just not certain what kind of tuner to get, so I guess I got more research to do.

How long will it take you to get another TV? It might not be worth the hassle if you’re getting a TV in a matter of a few weeks.

Getting rid of the tv was actually a long-term decision. Our apt is so tiny it’s just not practical to set one up somewhere. But I want to get back to gaming, so looks like I’ll be buying some equipment. Hopefully I can find some that isn’t too pricey.
