So I’ve been having a problem. I’ve ordered Super Mario World on eBay 2 times and I cannot get it to work on my snes. As soon as I get to the map area where I have to move left for the first level, Mario flies off screen and disappears, and I can’t do anything. I’ve also noticed that on both copies of donkey Kong country 3 that I have, the sprites on the map are invisible. It’s still playable, but you cannot see where you are. My snes model number is SNS-001. I’ve opened the system up and cleaned it without removing anything more than the top part. Anyone else come across this, or know how to fix it?

Have you also tried giving the games a good cleaning?
And I mean taking them apart and cleaning the connector of the boards really good with some alcohol on a cotton swab?

As Masamune stated, try giving the pins a good cleaning with some rubbing alcohol and some cotton swabs. I believe the recommended alcohol percentage is above 70%, but even that should do the trick. Just be sure not to completely soak the q-tip, and allow some time for drying.
