I’m not sure if such a thread already exists.

Post your favorite video game music tracks!

Here are a couple of mine:

Top Gear has one of the best soundtracks in my opinion smile

Wave Race 64 is fantastic too

How ’bout a little DKC appreciation?

Great idea for a topic.

There’s too many songs for me to post here.  Not wanting to dominate the topic, I’ll just post a few of my favourites.

A lot of my favorite game music comes from Sonic Adventure 1. Personally, I think it probably has one of the best soundtracks in any Sonic game & perhaps any game.

Apparently realizing how popular 8-bit chiptune music is these days, Nintendo finally got around to releasing a “Nintendo FAMICOM Music” soundtrack CD. Contained on it are all music from 8-bit Nintendo games, such as Super Mario Brothers, Metroid, Ice Climber, Legend of Zelda, Famicom Wars, Dr. Mario, Nazo no Murasame Castle, Wrecking Crew, etc.

Here’s the CD on Amazon Japan.

I have a preorder set and I’m looking forward to getting it! Too bad there’s no Fire Emblem on it. I hope there will be a volume 2 someday!

Donkey Kong series for sure! Really like the ones already listed. Also, be sure to check out “Funky Kong’s” theme. It’s got that fantastic beat that never seems to end!

http://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&……bGEDonkey Kong Country series for sure!

Here’s one I’ve only recently discovered: “BioMetal”

It has the music from the insanely popular Dutch group “2 Unlimited”. They were mostly popular in Europe that is but were really important for the “House” music genre. Or “Euro Dance” as it’s called out of Europe. If only I hadvthis when I was a kid. Use 2 Unlimited fan, and still love those classics today. I can add this game to my “Games to Get”  list!

Cool! Are there any remixes or is it just the original music for these games?

Unfortunately, Amazon has provided no samples to listen to. I can’t understand everything in the product’s description, but I believe that these are the original game chiptunes. I’m frankly tired of remixes and such. Anybody else can handle those. I’ve been wanting a straightforward chiptune collection like this for a long time now. Other companies like Hudson have had chiptune soundtrack compilation CDs out for a while. It’s about time Nintendo did something. Famicom games’ chiptunes have been available on the Game Sound Legend CD series, it looks like.

I’m currently playing Phantasy Star IV on my Genesis. The music in this game has been incredible so far! 10 minutes ago, I entered a place called ”Ladea Tower” and this tune begins to play:

Needless to say my mind got blown away! This is amazing!

Phantasy Star IV is a fantastic game!  It’s my second favourite 16-bit RPG; just behind Chrono Trigger.  I love how the whole game moves along at such a brisk pace (just like Chrono Trigger).

Is this your first time playing through it?

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

Yes, it is. I just started digging into the Genesis’ library in 2013. I’m very impressed by the game. I did not think it would be THAT good.
