OfflineNot SNES but it is a great remix of Mega Man X2’s Bubble Crab theme designed for Duff McWhalen in X5.

OfflineVery nice interpretation of that track Ghost! X5 is the only Mega Man game I had as a child, I think I might just try to play through it again! I don’t think I ever finished it hah!

I’ve been listening to this game’s soundtrack a lot lately.. Never had the chance to try the game though!

Also, a track from my favorite Castlevania so far.. The music starts slowly.. give it about a minute ;D
(I haven’t really played Symphony of the Night but I guess I should haha! Also, I should probably try to get into Super Metroid.. I’ve had the game for a couple of years now and never kept on playing past the first hour or so :\)

OfflineReally like that Battletoads & DD – Abobo theme.
This takes things a little slower but is still a gorgeous town theme from Ihatovo Story, lost in the depths of the SFC ocean. Someone needs to translate this game.

OfflineThis is a really good one:
For SNES, some of my favs are Plok, Terranigma, Chrono Trigger, Super Castlevania IV, Demon’s Crest, Lord of the Rings, Romancing Saga series, TMNT4, Front Mission: Gun Hazard and Waterworld.
I’ve been making a retro vgm tribute page for a while now, and while it’s more focused on technical achievement you can find a lot of my other favs on these pages as well:

Feedback on the SNES list would be appreciated! I just have 1998-2000 left to listen to there before finalizing its page layout.

Seems you have some technical knowledge. That’s awesome. And the SNES list you have on there is extensive. Do you have Magical Pop’n on that list? I didn’t see it, but it might be in that large block of text towards the end, I’m not sure.
All acquired very recently when it comes to the SNES but yeah, I’ve tried to look into each chip’s characteristics quite thoroughly. I used to think the SNES just had a standard sampler when it actually has various quirks and effects that makes the sound more distinct.
You can use Ctrl+F in most browsers to find the game you’re looking for, and I’ll update the page soon to make it a bit more user friendly (unfortunately I have to pay up to add an actual search function). Magical Pop’n is in there, fairly high but not quite in the top tier. I’ll give it another listen and see if maybe it deserves better.
I may have missed a few US/EU only releases so far, but otherwise it’s just the few post 1997 games left to check.

OfflineOne of the sweetest SNES soundtracks is surprisingly Waterworld, my favourite being the Diving Theme.

A hidden gem among the early Sega arcade racing catalog, I always adored Racing Hero. The Opening Stage Theme always gets me pumped up.

OfflineOooh! That Racing Hero game seems right up my alley! Wish I had the chance to play it.
I was listening to the Super Hang-on soundtrack last night–weird coincidence. I always really liked that short and simple track :
