Just because there is NOTHING I can do to change it does not mean that I’m okay with something so horrendous. If society values a service then someone will serve that need. All I can do is my part to ensure that people are treated as fairly.
If that is wrong then I guess I do not have the courage to sit in an efficiency apartment and eat shit and never travel. Because that is the way it works in my country since it is almost impossible to get benefits. You have to be destitute to get any help…

Anyone can do something. Go ahead and believe you can do nothing if thats what you really want to believe. People do something about these things every single day.
I will correct a few things you seem to have thought i have said, before i really do end this seemingly endless debate with you, despite the fact ive told you im very literal. I never said people can choose not to work, i never said people are not allowed to travel, nor did i say that they should eat “shit”. I never have. As a communist i believe EVERYONE has these rights, to live life, to enjoy life, to share equally what life and the earth has to offer without exploiting or taking advantage of other people. it is perfectly doable. Life is not about working, especially not for someone elses personal and economical benefit. Everyone sharing everything is the only way this world can continue to live on. You have taken an active choice however, to embrace capitalism and advertising etc, its evident from all the posts where you bring up the “business side” of things, rather than talking about enjoying and having fun. And when i confront this, you paint me out as one trying to rob you of life’s pleasures? Fuck that man, you really dont have a clue. Im talking about these things as a right for ALL people, you included. not just those who can make enough money to afford it. If you really believe money is might and money makes right, then i hope for your sake the earth has not crumbled before capitalism falls, having ran out of markets and people to exploit. Because as you know, once you have tapped one market, you need to create and move on to the next, and the earth is running out of markets to exploit. Once this happens, there is no more money amongst ordinary people, and that is when an inevitable change to socialism will happen. 1% can not stand against 99% when 99% have nothing left at all. I hope this happens in our lifetime so you can finally see and understand what i am talking about.
See unlike capitalists and people dumb enough to support that system, i have no ill will towards “ex-capitalists” once this systemchange is over and done with. they will be treated just like any other person. Can you say the same thing about them treating others that way with a straight face? No you cant. My country has produced the worlds wealthiest man, Ingvar Kamprad, and do you know how he got there? Look into Ikea and see if it is not built by exploiting both people, resources and fair tax systems.
As for USA not having benefits and refusing them to you unless you are destitute. Try sweden, where terminally ill people are refused economical and health benefits reserved for them BY LAW, by government agencies. Sweden is the world leader when it comes to decline in social healthcare, wellfare, and other such security systems. I have faught for 2 years for the right to get sickness pention at 25% when doctors claim i shouldnt work more than 50%, i have been refused by the government insurance agency, i have been refused in two instances of swedish courts and lost my lawyer because she knew we wouldnt win in the highest court in sweden. I know what its like to be at the bottom of the ladder, to be destitute, to be refused all those things you mentioned above. I eat shit, i can not travel, i need to twist and turn my pennies to be able to afford any of the things that makes it worth anything to continue struggling. Games that passes time.
So dont come to me with that bullshit, i know it all too well, and i dont wish it on ANYONE. Not even the worst capitalist, who has put ME in this position, to get a few more bucks..

Please, let’s not attack each other ad hominem. Also, could you please move the political debate over to the Off-Topic section of the forum? Many people have no desire to see political arguments on the internet, as they do nothing but anger and offend people. If there was an Off-Topic thread devoted specifically for political/social/economic debates the people that did want to see this could just ignore it.

I am sorry that you have been forced into that position. Nobody as intelligent as you should be forced to live that way. Why they cannot find part-time work for you is beyond me, as you seem quite smart and resourceful.
I will have to look into Sweden’s system as it seems quite unfair. Is there any talk of changing some of these atrocious laws?
At Kanto’s request we should make a thread for this. I want to know more about Sweden….

There are no attacks between Mongunzoo and myself. At least i dont think so, and i dont think he does either. He may not understand my opinions and perspectives, but so far he has understood its all a discussion and nothing else. That said you wont be seeing me do it again, ive been pulled into these far too many times to have the energy for it anymore. As for anger and offense, you read too much into it simply because i use strong words. Look at my tag info and please try to look it up for yourself. I have not the energy to get angry anymore.
Ill just cut back on my input as people always try to read it as something its not.. *sigh*

Yes, no personal attacks have taken place. Just a Discussion!
As for cutting back please do not do that! I would hate to see you cut back because You are really the only person who has exposed me to this way of thinking! I want to learn more about it and have created a thread so these future discussions do not “pollute the board” so to speak.
I hope to see you there!

I didn’t think you had attacked each other yet. I was concerned that it would happen, since it seemed to be getting intense. Grimm, don’t worry about it. My best friend’s sister has Asperger’s Syndrome, so I have some idea of the challenge presents. Have a nice discussion.

Tolerance for opinions despite the passion of the debate is a unique feature of the HUB LoL!
Its a far cry from the trivial arguments that result in name-calling and smearing isn’t it?
I genuinely like and respect Grimm, and while we can agree on nothing, it sure makes for good discussion.
And the more I look into what he is saying, the more questions about the state of things I am beginning to ask.
Just don’t expect me to go all Jerry Maguier anytime soon

Oh my, where to begin. Lets just say this kind of story is in the paper nearly every day in the UK.
I’m thinking of starting a thread in the Off Topic section if anyone wants to share some thoughts about politics in their respective countries.

I have no problem with people like her. I have a problem with that publication and that type of article. Its like in sweden, where the prior government spoke of 10% or so cheaters in the governmental insurance agency. They began a long investigation. Regime change happened and the new right wing started speaking of up to 25% cheating. in 2009 or 2010 the investigation was over. 0.001% led to a conviction in court. See what im getting at? People who abuse wellfare systems and social security safety nets are negligable. Anything else is just right wing propaganda to make people who cant think for themselves, let the people who rule get away with robbing the stigmatized groups. Its rampant in EU right now, and sweden is at the top of the class. This truly is the last thing ill say about politics in this forum. I know ive said that before so it prolly doesnt have much credibility anymore, but this time i mean it. The “us against them” mindset is just too ignorant..

Ah but you see that story doesn’t stigmatize her to any great length really. In reality as I’ve said stories like hers are so commonplace now that genuine honest people just give up trying. It’s the system that’s inherently flawed, highlighted by tragic cases of people who get refused help when they desperately need it while others get everything for openly and brazenly doing nothing. While I dislike their attitude and arrogance they are doing everything legal. Which begs the question, how is it right to destroy the state that is legally forced to fund you without consequences?

Ill respond as a courtesy. I have no problem with people who openly and brazenly do nothing and expect the state to fund them. None what so ever. why? Because they are human beings and an extremely small populace. People who cant or are not allowed to work kill themselves, because they feel inadequate, unwanted, useless etc etc. People want to contribute, people want to help, people want to be part of something greater than themselves. The people you speak of are very few and far between and im ok with them living off of me. I can afford it in a solidarity based system where everyone helps. If there is a shithead who doesnt want to help. Fine by me. He/she is vastly outnumbered by good and honest people. This comes from a person who has not had a decent income from working for 9 years, despite constand re-educational efforts on my own part, trying to find other fields of work. I am one of those people who desperately need state sanctions and help from the economical safety nets. I should be a prime candidate for your reasoning. Yet im not. I live near the bottom, i may even lose my home in the near future because i happen to own my extremely cheap flat, both cheap in purchase and monthly fees. Swedish wellfare system wont allow me to own it, even if it means paying a higher monthly fee to me later, than paying up today. If i get a job i have a small chance of getting if thing go well the coming months, i drop my income in half, because its a parttime job. See, i want to work, even if it means losing half the money i get as being unemployed. I simply want help compensate that loss from a society i help to fund, through taxes. If anyone would be entitled to bitching about people abusing a wellfare system and losing out because of it, thats me. Yet i dont. Im smarter than that. I see through all the bullshit from selfish self-rightious people who simply wants it all for themselves, and demand everyone put in the same amount of effort, for the same return. Which is completely impossible since we are all different and some have disabilities where others are and remain strong enough. To me “to everyone according to their need, by everyone according to their ability” is absolute truth. If i can work 50%, do i not deserve a normal decent living? How about if a person can only work 25%. should that person deserve half my standard of living? That just doesnt make sense.
The problem i have is with people who share your selfish opinion. Who thinks when they fall on hard time that someone else has to pay for it. WE ALL PAY. TOGETHER. That is the only way you can stop shit like personal greed and corporate greed. If we all share, you wont envy your neighbours new car or tv set or whatever.
i wrote this response to answer your question, and it became longer than i intended, if this doesnt clear up where i stand, or answer your question, i cant help you. Im out of here.

Well I understand your views though I still don’t agree with most of them. Still while I disagree I have the courtesy to accept your stance on the subject despite your cause to call my opinion selfish when you clearly misunderstood so I’ll make it clear. What I do not advocate is working people paying for others (who can work but choose not to) to have a luxurious life beyond their means and the means of many others. If that’s selfish then I don’t care – it’s a question of morality and commonsense. I’m done with this.
