I also bought Beyond Good and Evil. A very good title. My most recent purchase is a game called Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons for the PS4. I haven’t got a chance to play it yet.

Never thought I’d do that, but I bought a clone system today. I got the black version Retron 1 (NES only) and bought an original NES controller to go with it. I figured I didn’t have enough space for an original NES and I don’t have any nostalgia for the system. The original ones seem to be WAY too expensive in my area too.. I was hesitating between a Retron 1 and a Retroport adapter to use with my SNES.. but I figured I’d rather play with an original NES controller for a better experience. So I went the Retron 1 route.
Haven’t tested it yet but I heard it’s not compatible with Castlevania III and most Dragon Warrior games. I never owned an NES before so I’m excited to give it a try! Didn’t get any game when I purchased the system cause the only store that was open at the flea market today (it’s Easter, afterall) sells game at atrocious prices. Ordered a copy of Ninja Gaiden I and StarTropics online. Might be looking for a copy of the first Castlevania if I can find it for around $20 canadian (which seems to be impossible in my area).
Anyway.. the system is almost the same size as an NES cartridge and is very very light weight. The price asked for it at most places is very good. I paid $30 canadian (around $22,60 US today).

TLDR : I bought a Retron 1, an NES controller, Ninja Gaiden I and StarTropics.

I acquired several titles since I last posted on this thread. Some of the stuff I’ve gotten are Secret of Mana, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Metal Gear Solid V, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Dragon Quest VIII,Trampoline Terror, Castle Shikigami 2, Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster and a lot more. I cataloged everything on vgcollect, which you can access on the smiley face icon to the left of this post.
Hey Eric Dude: I was thinking about using Twitch to broadcast some of my gameplays. How easy is it to play SNES games on Twitch using the actual console?

Just ordered a new Super Everdrive to test out new games before adding them to the collection since I broke my old one. I also bought a nice SFC game called Dezaemon.. It’s a shooter/shmup maker game.. as in, you create your own game. You can make sprites and even the music! There is also a default shooter included in the game and its actually not half bad! It seems like people rarely speak of this game. I read about it in the Super Play magazine last year.
Also, as I stated in another part of the forum, I recently acquired a Super Famicom along with GS Mikami, Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, Super Puyo Puyo 2 Remix and Go Go Ackman 1.

Ah yes, the Shoot-Em-Up Construction Kit or Dezaemon as it’s known. I also read the article in SP magazine and was tempted to pick it up myself several years ago. I never did but it would be nice to know if its accessible without a deep knowledge of Japanese. The SFC library also had a couple of RPG makers (with default built-in game) that looked interesting too.

Guess what just arrived this past Friday? This beastly game :
Also my small CRT makes its glorious return (it had been stored at my parents’ place)!
EDIT: Just finished the game! It was pretty fun but kinda short (just like other Natsume games on the SNES like Power Rangers and Ninja Warriors). Things get harder in the last few levels!

Hard to say.. but it was fairly short. It was about as long as its Natsume-developed cousins: Ninja Warriors and Power Rangers.. I’d say 1 hour-ish if you know what you’re doing. It might take longer otherwise, especially in the later stages.. but still only a couple of hours tops I’d say. I completed it in 3-4 sittings, very casually. It is definitely a pretty solid game; among the best games I’ve played on the SNES/SFC in my opinion.. but it’s short and it’s starting to get more expensive.
Dezaemon came in the mail today along with Gundam Wing: Endless Duel. About Dezaemon, I have no idea why fan translated version even exists.. the game is 99% in English. The only Japanese is on the submenu, on the buttons you need to click to enter the ”stage music edit mode” or the “sprite drawing mode”, etc. There is even an image on the button, right under the Japanese text, giving you a pretty clear idea what the words on the button means. I highly recommend it. I paid $15 canadian for a mint cart only copy, shipping included.. so you can probably get it for around $10 USD haha!
I found this image on the hardcoregaming101 site showing exactly what I mean:

Sorry, didn’t see this until now. You’ll need a capture device (a cheap, good USB one is the Dazzle DVC), and probably want to install OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It takes a little tinkering to get things right, and you’ll make your TV signal weaker (darker) if you split it, but it’s not bad.
I also picked up Dezamon recently. The pre-made game is decent. I was interested in the music maker, but it feels pretty clunky. It’s also hard to figure out since it’s in japanese, so I can’t really hold that against it. Haven’t tried to make a level yet.

Haven’t picked up much for the SNES over the last couple years, but just recently bought a copy of Legend of the Mystical Ninja. Very happy to add this to my collection.
Man, have SNES prices gone crazy or what? I remember we were all complaining how expensive things were 2 or 3 years ago. Looking back, just about any game you could have bought then would be much cheaper today, some extremely so.
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

You think Super Nintendo game prices have gone down?
I think they have only gone up. Even manuals and boxes have gone up. I bought Pocky and Rocky 2 CIB for $305 a few years ago and now just cart only is that price.

No, just the opposite. Apologies if my post was unclear. What I was trying to say was that even though we thought prices were too high in 2013/2014 (and they were pretty high), those older prices seem like a bargain compared to 2016 prices.
For example, I passed on buying Space Megaforce at $60 multiple times because I felt it was too much. These days the game goes for $150+.
Your Pocky & Rocky 2 example is another good one. I remember reading your article about how you won the CIB auction a few years back. The tone of your article clearly showed that you felt like it was a lot to pay for a single game. These days a CIB copy seems to go for $750+.
I guess I am wondering how much longer prices can continue to increase for. They’ve certainly gone up higher than I expected them to.
