OfflineThose are both good points. I think Masamune is right about the 80’s/90’s kids fuelling a rise in prices, but it is possible that some might give up before death. For example, people may give up on retro collecting when their career and family responsibilities become higher priorities.
At this point in time, a lot of SNES collectors are in their late 20’s and early 30’s. In other words, they are young and many can afford to spend their disposable income on old games. As they get older and start raising families, their priorities may shift. Would a 28-year old single guy be comfortable dropping $800 on a CIB copy of Earthbound. Probably. Would a father of 3 be comfortable dropping that same amount? I am not sure.
Antarch raises a good point about hardware deterioration, though I suspect this will impact disc based consoles and disc based games much more than SNES carts. SNES carts are very hardy and the SNES itself has no moving parts, so I can see the SNES lasting for many years to come (much older Atari 2600 systems still work for example).
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

OfflineEven if people’s priority’s change, will this stop the resellers from asking for absurd prices for these games?
I once asked a seller on Ebay would you consider lowering the price on an item I wanted from him since I thought his asking price was too much. He said no and if it didn’t sell, he would just keep it in storage.

OfflineI bought Touhou Genso Wanderer Limited Edition, Maximo Ghosts to Glory, Maximo vs. Army of Zin, Mana Khemia 1 and 2, Alundra 1 and 2, Shanghai II, Imperium, Snoopy vs. the Red Baron, Saiyuki: Journey to the West, Grandia, House of the Dead Overkill, Suikoden I and II.
This is all during the past 2 months. A lot of obscure games I know, but a lot of the lesser known stuff turns out pretty good.

Sweet scores. Is that a sealed Civilization or is it opened at one end?Whats the ps4 game to the left of Okami?
Nice, you got Power Sokouban, what do you think of it?
Ah yes, Dolucky Baseball. I have the Dolucky Soccer game, which actually isn’t too bad at all.
Civilization is sealed. Got it for a decent price.
The game to the left of Okami is Hyper Light Drifter. It initially didn’t get a physical release outside Japan until iambit published 9000 copies of it. Some liken the gameplay to A Link to the Past.
Haven’t had a chance to play Power Sokouban yet. I purchased it for a good price and I wanted to snag it before it was too late.

OfflineI’m almost ashamed to say that I’ve never played a Civilization game. Hyper Light Drifter looks interesting, it has a graphical style that would grow on me I feel.
I hear you regarding P.Sokouban, I have a fair amount of backlogged SNES/SFC games due to me purchasing them for good deals before the prices went too far for me to justify.

Does the Dolucky soccer game have any nice hand drawn artwork in its manual? For that matter, do the games Firefighting, Musya, and Super Fire Pro Wrestling X have good manual artwork in them as well?

OfflineI have all of these complete so I will have a look and take some pics for you to view. Art is very much an individual taste so its best that you decide for yourself rather than take my opinion alone.
Such a niche question, can I ask; Is this for a feature article on Super Nintendo artwork or for your own edification on the subject?
I’ll get back to you soon with those pics.

Though a feature article on Super Nintendo/ Super Famicom manual artwork is a great idea, I ask because I often use manual artwork to accompany the reviews on this site. If those manuals I asked about have neat artwork in them, I’ll use them for future reviews on those games.
