Just bought a new AC adapter for my GBA SP as well as a new battery for it. I got my hands on Final Fantasy I+II: Dawn of Souls, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I also ordered a Super Retro Advance, which is basically a GBA clone system inside a SNES cartridge. It works like the Super Game Boy.
The games weren’t too pricy and have nice 16-bit graphics.

I just purchased Final Fantasy III (Final Fantasy VI) for my SNES this afternoon from a local video game store in Gainesville. I don’t have my SNES with me, but I’ll be able to play it tomorrow. So excited. I’ve been looking for this game for a while.
Currently looking for the following SNES games:
Chrono Trigger
EarthBound
Final Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV)
Secret of Mana
Illusion of Gaia
Super Castlevania IV
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
TMNT IV
Contra III

Nice dude, a convertor for your Genesis. Now you can play all those awesome Master System titles on your Gen.
Wait a sec… what is that!? Math Blaster for the SNES Hmm.. it says “Davidson” on the top-right of the cart label, never heard of them, is this game rare? I know about the Mario Early Years titles but never came across this.

Today was a great day!
But before I get into details, I must say that in my area it is pretty hard to find good to avarage games under $20 at retro gaming stores (even in a flea market). You usually find games that are 20-30+ dollars, games that are sold at a ridiculously high price or sports game for 5 dollars or so… That being said, I never thought that I could be lucky enough to stumble upon a game sold for less than its normal value. When I go on the hunt for SNES games, I’m usually looking for games that are always overpriced and I try to figure out if I should buy a game off ebay (calculating the game’s price + shipping fee + import fee + US to Canadian dollars conversion) or if the local overpriced game would end up costing less than the ones found on ebay.
So, I was on the train on my way back from university and reading a scanned issue of Super Play on my phone. Looking at the reviews, I started reading a 4 pages long article on a Super Famicom game called Assault Suits Valken, the game seemed kind of appealing to me and the reviewers gave it a 91% and 90% score. There was apparently a US version of the game called Cybernator, published by Konami. Out of curiosity, I checked how much this game was worth nowadays. It was supposedly going for around $20-25.
Once I got off the train, I decided to go and take a look at the 2-3 games stores at the flea market. I mostly wanted to know if they sold games like ActRaiser or U.N. Squadron but I kept an eye open for that Cybernator game I had just read about. In the first store, I found a few games I was looking for but decided to check the other stores before buying anything. Cybernator was $30… I thought to myself “Bah.. slightly overpriced compared to ebay and such… just as usual”. At the second store, I once again found a couple games I wanted at semi reasonable prices I guess… Then, I looked to my left and found at the bottom of a shelf a huge stack of sports game priced under $10. I decided to take a look. Sitting there among numerous ‘worthless’ games was Cybernator! The loose cartridge’s condition was near perfect so I jumped on it and casually paid the $10 the lady asked for. At the third store, I also found Cybernator, but it was in pretty bad shape and overpriced.
TLDR : So I ended up buying Cybernator for $10. I had never played it before and so far I’m really liking it! It might not be the best game in the world but I’m quite happy I could find it for a lot less than I thought I’d pay for it. Had I not read that article in Super Play, I would have most certainly over looked this game among the stack of sports game.

Ah yes, Cybernator. I was given this game CiB for free years ago by a friend. Didn’t care for it much if I’m honest but I’m glad you reminded me I still have it!
ActRaiser was one I used to have, a fairly good game with light role-play elements but I preferred the platforming sections mostly. I’m yet to play ActRaiser 2.
Only game I’ve bought recently was Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts for the original Xbox about a month back.

YEAH! And with the manual? You must have paid a good amount for that, right? I’m glad you purchased it! In fact, I think I’ll play through it again soon! Tell me what you think of it!
Man, when I was on the hunt for that game I couldn’t find a copy of it in the stores near me. I ended up getting it on ebay. When I went back to these stores last weekend I saw 3 copies of it in perfect shape, one of them was CIB. That’s just my luck :\

The manual was $63.72 and the cart was $78.59. I actually remember the ads for this game in Gamepro magazine. You mentioning it was like a blast from the past.
I know what you mean about luck. It’s like looking for a girlfriend. When you’re looking for one, it’s hard to find the right one. Once you have a girlfriend, it’s like a bunch of girls are attracted to you all of the sudden!
