I bought Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon.. it was amazing but very short (about 8 hours to complete everything). I also bought a brand new copy of the original Far Cry 3 on PS3 for about 15$. The game’s good but I prefer Blood Dragon :)

I had not realised it but it seems I’ve taken a break from retro gaming lately even though I still read the forums as often as possible, haha!

Not much lately but I have acquired King’s Quest I , SimLife , Frontier: Elite II , and finally A320 Airbus (all on Amiga), and Famicom Mini: Super Mario Bros. (on GBA)

I’m slowing down with the game buying myself, but did get Dragon’s Crown and Bravely Default Collector’s Edition recently.

Dragon’s Crown looks awesome, if I had a PS3 that would be one of the first games I’d get.

I just started playing with my sister. It seems promising so far. However the women in this game have too much boobs for my taste. It’s downright disgusting.

Apparently that’s the main talking point of the game but I like to see Dragon’s Crown as more an homage to games like Streets of Rage and Shadow over Mystara. Having never played it though I can’t pass judgement, but I presume the gameplays fairly solid and without much criticism in regards to the play mechanics.

I recently bought Earthbound and Super Castlevania IV on the Wii U virtual console to save some pennies. I had never played them but they are both excellent games. I’m tempted to grab a physical copy of Castlevania some day.

I bought a few things off ebay today: an original 6 button Sega Genesis controller, The Lost Vikings for the Genesis and After Burner II also for the Genesis. I think I got okay deals, especially on that Lost Vikings game. I don’t believe there are that many differences between the Genesis and SNES versions yet the SNES version is kind of expensive compared to the $5 I spent on the Sega one (before shipping costs).

Dragon’s Crown is an amazing beat ’em up, but you are totally right, the way some of the female characters are portrayed is pretty tasteless.

The Elf looks “normal”, but almost every other female character, including the NPCs are oversexualized to the point where they just look silly.

If you ever want to play online sometime, my PSN is RushDawg

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

If memory serves me correctly, I believe the Genesis version of the Lost Vikings has more levels, though the SNES version looks and sounds slightly better.

Just ordered a free copy of F-Zero (SNES) from Lukiegames. I used to purchase my games there a few years ago and had a few ”points” left over. It is the second free SNES game I got from them, the other one being Star Fox.

These games aren’t very expensive but free stuff is good stuff, right?

Lukie’s games huh? I have to check them out. I wouldn’t mind getting some free games here and there.

The thing is.. I stopped using them for 2 main reasons:

1. You don’t see what you get before buying (although I have always received items in very good shape.. but who knows, might be luck).

2. They sell SNES games for more than you would pay on ebay most of the time.

You get 1 point per dollar spent. I used 80 points for F-Zero and like 110 for Star Fox about a year ago if I remember correctly. So this means I spent close to $200 on their site. And those are very cheap games going for – $10 if I’m correct. If you wanted games like Super Mario Kart or Link to the Past, you’d have to spend over 300-350 points!

Here’s a list of the available ”rewards” you can get with your points. http://www.lukiegames.com/lukie-rewards

I’d recommend using other sites before this one… Lately I’ve been checking one called jjgames for genesis items. I got my model 2 in good shape with 2 controllers and 2 games for under $25 a few months ago. You can see every single item they sell before purchasing too.

I received my 6-button Sega Genesis  controller (MK 1653) today.. It is in much better condition than I expected! It almost looks brand new! The controller is very responsive in comparison to the old 3-button one I used before. It is incredible how a better controller can enhance your gaming experience. I’m pretty sure this is one of the very best controllers I’ve ever held on any console. I’m quite happy with my purchase. :)

^ Controllers can simply make or break a gaming experience.

Speaking of the 6-button pad, that’s one of the reasons I prefer to play Street Fighter on SEGA’s machine over the SNES.

That and it plays faster.

I got my hands on SNK Arcade Classics vol. 1 for the Wii a few weeks ago. You can get it for about $10 and it is totally worth it if you are interested in Neo Geo games. I recommend using the classic controller.

It’s worth it just to get to play Turf Masters.

For my 21st birthday today, my sister found a PlayStation with two DualShock controllers an gave it to me as a present. I’m so happy!

I’ve been wanting to try some video games for a different console, and this is just the ticket. When I find some games and a memory card to go along with it, I’ll share them too.
