OfflineAll the clues seem to point to ‘The Violinist of Hamelin’ a Japanese exclusive that’s not obscure but is certainly pushing the boundaries grimm said I should never have chosen Sutte Hakkun, i opened the door to the obscure japanese games no one has ever heard of! Well tbh I’ve wanted to delve into something other then US exclusives for a while. It doesn’t help that I only have about 6 US titles – the rest I have are either PAL or Jap’. I know I’m well in the minority on this though.
You are correct, Ghost. About time someone solved the riddle. It’s your turn!

Ah well yes there are US exclusives but I didn’t mean to write that, I meant ‘they had to of been released in the US’ , that’s what I thought the TC’s original rules were. I quick glance at the first page now tells me he just wanted NO japanese games so I suppose we can use US or PAL ones as well, which should help us Eurocrats out ![]()
US exclusives are usually nothing to shout about in my experience.

OfflineSpot on. I didn’t think anyone would get it so fast.
[Taken from wiki] “The plot of the book revolves around the young reporter Tintin who, aided by his faithful dog Snowy, his friend Captain Haddock and the sherpa Tharkey, their treks across the Himalayan mountains to the plateau of Tibet, having arrived by way of India and Nepal, in order to look for Tintin’s friend Chang Chong-Chen whom the authorities claim had been killed in a plane crash over the mountains. Convinced that Chang has somehow survived, Tintin continues to search for him despite the odds, along the way encountering the giant Himalayan ape-man, the Yeti.”
The game itself is very much like this though it also has bit’s from other Tintin adventures such as the train tracks being blown up by the duo of Japanese businessman Mr.Mitsuhirato and arms dealer Dawson taken from ‘The Blue Lotus’ adventure. This sets the scenario quite well and is followed by the rescue of a young Chang from a dangerous river wild which retells how they became friends
Not a good game to be fair, despite me liking the series from childhood. The controls are just a pain. Imagine having to do pinpoint execution with controls as loose as Prince of Persia and you’ll see how frustrating it can be. Perseverance and patience will reward you with passwords to levels if you can stomach it. Be warned: this is not a game for beginners.
Bring on the next game. Over to you grimm…

The Ignition Factor(US title) or Fire Fighting(Jpn title) is well.. yup, a fire fighting game where you go into burning buildings, save lives etc. So I thought the first clue might refer to using the fire-hose but I was obviously way off.
OK. I think I know what it is, maybe. Is it Zombies Ate My Neighbours? I remember theres a boy and girl and you fire a water pistol at enemies, although you get other stuff too. If it’s not then I’m truly stumped.

OfflineSo close with Ignition Factor and I was on the right lines too, I should’ve just gone for the PAL release of Firemen straight after, Doh!

Ok great.1) A man on a serious mission has to defeat a Blanka look-a-like before moving on to the next level …
Not sure, Final Fight 2 as a complete guess, it’s been some time since I played that game.
