This post is for you to introduce yourself and to tell us something about you. I’ll start:
My name is Robb, and I’m the creator of the site. I got back into retro gaming this year. Once I got the Super NES fever, I started looking around for a comprehensive Super Nintendo fansite. I didn’t find what I was looking for. So therefore, I
decided to start my own site, and voila! Here we are!
What about you?

Eric Dude here. I’ve been playing Super Nintendo since the year it was released, and though I collect for every system, it is my console of choice. I have 721 North American carts, which is close enough to a complete collection for me. I do a weekly SNES gaming stream, have the Twin Galaxies home run record for Ken Griffey Jr MLB on the SNES, and generally just love to play video games.
I’ve written a few reviews for other sites, and if I can make the time, I’d like to do one for this site as well.

My name is Tim and have been a gamer since my parents bought me the Sega Master System cause the Nintendo Entertainment System was sold out everywhere. While disappointed at first I quickly grew to love my SMS and eventually I got my NES. The first game purchased for my NES was The Legend of Zelda and I grew quickly attached to the Nintendo legacy of characters, Link, Samus, Mario, etc. while still loving all things Sega. I recently have ben re-acquainting myself with old 16-bit SNES & Genesis game titles I missed out on or never got a chance to finish.
I consider myself an avid reader and am currently enjoying the Game of Thrones books as well as the HBO series. I also enjoy movies and have almost 700 Blu-ray discs.
Not a fanboy, just a gamer...every system has its gems!!

Hi.
Im from Sweden, and i collect games and various systems for gaming purposes. I only collect games i want to play, but usually i get boxed games, preferably as complete as possible. Ive been playing games for 25 odd years and my first ever system was the C64.
I have systems from the old Intellivision to the PS3 and various amounts of games for each system i own. If you wanna know more just ask me, i dont really want to take up too much space listing all my systems and games. Needless to say, i enjoy games from mainly the 16-bit generation, and current generation.
I have Asperger's Syndrome, which means i can come across as rigid and overly argumentative. Please try and look past this and contact me if you have a problem with what/how i type. I type and read very literally and use no undertones. Thank you for trying to understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.....r_syndrome

Hiya folks. 26/Male/England. Saw this site on gamefaqs so some of you might know me from there. I hope it attracts more people here.
Always will consider the Snes the greatest console with the best games available. Ive had my 50hz Pal snes since ’93 and it still goes strong today (19 years! wheres it all gone eh). I guess i never really left the 90’s in terms of gaming, they were my happiest years. So about 3 years ago i ventured into the world of serious buying for the super nintendo.
I already had about 10 pal games so i set about buying the pal ones i wanted. Once i quickly learned more, the rest as they say is history…. I got a quality adapter and set about getting imports – games i had never played, never knew existed. I currently have around 150 snes games. What i also admire about the japanese ones is the artwork, the box design, the care taken with manuals and extra details that really make them stand out. I also have a fair amount of US imports as well. If your wondering do i play these games or am i just a weirdo collector then im glad to say its the former so ive been playing many a year now.
Im happy to answer any questions or help anyone out should they want any advice.

Welcome! It will be nice getting some perspective from a gamer in England. We also have a guy from Sweden. I have a question. Does the 50hz issue still affect newer systems like X-box 360 and PS3?

No, they play 60hz.

How can you deal with 50hz for 19 years?! Sure, some pal titles have been optimized for 50hz, but i personally want full screen. I also dont know what the ratio is between optimized and non optimized, but having 150 japanese games playing slower… wow…

Yeah about the 50hz issue with modern consoles, as someone said its not an issue anymore. I actually dont have a ps3 or xbox360 blah blah, i stopped after they made the cube. Well i got a wii on release but i was very disapointed to say the least.
Well i actually have about 70 to 80 jap games out of the 150 but i have to tell you that apart from the borders which as you say would be nice to drop in favour of optimal full screen there really isn’t any slow-down so to speak. The borders arn’t intrusive in any way while your playing and the only ones i notice with slowdown are a platformer called Psycho Dream and the three Parodius shooter games. The thing with Psycho Dream is it was a rushed effort before the developer went out of business therefore not only is there noticable slowdown in certain places but also a fair amount of flicker. Good game though and if you get past that you will find a decent platformer with a surprisingly original story. Parodius games are my fave shooters ever so i had to get all 3. Shooters on the snes are notorious for having slowdown anyway so again it doesn’t bother me. I just can’t believe the US didn’t get any of them, its a crime really. I don’t know about the technical numbers and frankly it doesn’t interest me, i much prefer learning about new and different titles ive not played or discovered. Someone will know the absolute truth of the Pal system but it isn’t me, i just get along fine with it though thats probably due to 19 years of having the same one so im used to it. I wouldn’t want to put any Pal gamers off from getting imports, they work fine on my snes, just get a quality adapter not one of those old shoddy ones that refuses to play games made after 1992!

I certainly could see a difference in gameplay speed between 50 and 60hz.. Thats why i sold my Pal snes and got a US instead. The only pal systems i have are my playstations (1,2,3) and my jaguar, which will have its 50z-specification component removed as soon as i get to it.
