OfflineHello. I first got my SNES in 1998 for Christmas. (I was 6-years-old.) My favorite game series of all-time is the Legend of Zelda, so A Link to the Past naturally holds the top spot in my SNES collection. I let someone borrow my first SNES years ago and they lost it, along with my large collection of games. I bought my new one from a local game store several months ago and I’m slowly but surely building up a new SNES collection. It’s still my favorite console all these years later.
Currently looking for the following SNES games:
Chrono Trigger
EarthBound
Final Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV)
Secret of Mana
Illusion of Gaia
Super Castlevania IV
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
TMNT IV
Contra III

OfflineWelcome to all our newest members. It’s great to read about peoples fondness for the greatest console ever made.
Kanto I bet you were gutted about all those games going missing! I couldn’t help but comment that you got the SNES in ’98 too. That’s pretty late in the period when you consider most everyone else of your age were hooked up to the PS or N64. I was 13 at that time and remember going crazy for the N64. It wasn’t until I entered college in my late teens that I discovered the retro bug. LttP is my favorite Zelda game of all time though I have a soft spot for Link’s Awakening due to the hours I used to play it.

OfflineHello Kanto. Sorry for your loss. That’s significant. I remember allowing a friend to borrow Maniac Mansion for the NES and he never returned it.
It taught me never to let someone borrow something I couldn’t stand to lose.
Well you have a new system now and you’re slowly building a collection. Good for you. I think this is the best place for a SNES fan like you.
Also to all the new guys, feel free to add a avatar picture! You can add one by going to the profile button in the upper right hand side of the forum page.

OfflineHi, t3tr1s here. Just got back into retro gaming. I just bought a Super Nintendo off of Craigslist and I’m slowly building a library. keyword is slowly. Super Nintendo was the first system that I owned, which is probably why I went back to it. so I sold my xbox and now I’m trying to collect games from my childhood.
I’ve been gaming since about 1993 or so, and being able to play these games with my wife and daughter is just awesome. in fact, my 3 year old just beat her first Super Mario World level!

OfflineI was pretty upset that I lost them. I played SNES at my cousins’ house since 1995. When I got my first SNES, it was my older cousin’s SNES that my aunt and uncle gave to my parents because he was getting a N64 for Christmas. We couldn’t get a N64 when I was younger because we didn’t have much money. For years, the only way I could keep up with gaming was hanging out with my cousins and friends that had the new consoles. I wish I was born earlier so I could experience the SNES in its prime.

Yes in a way I feel glad that I was born in the 80’s so that I grew up starting with 8-bits and moved onto the 16-bits before jumping to the N64. Nothing can recreate the magic that you feel when playing a game as a child but there are so many happy memories that I can vividly recall.

OfflineI forgot to do this when I started so I guess I’ll do it now. I collect a lot of video game things but my first system was the SNES in 1994. I got the special DKC edition SNES that I really wish my parents didn’t throw the box away. I’ve collected almost all the good American SNES games besides the expensive ones like Earthbound so now I’m trying to get some good Super Famicom games.

OfflineHello Everybody
I’m Rob(RBT). 28, from England. My first experience of a SNES was 1993 when a friend had gotten the system with Mario All Stars for Christmas, we must have put hundreds of hours into that game
I should admit now I never owned as SNES back in the day as I was and still am a huge SEGA fan, My favourite system of all time is the Saturn with the SNES and Mega Drive a very close second. I do however now own my friends SNES
and have a handful of games for it.
I stumbled across this excellent site while looking how best to store loose US SNES carts as I plan on buying a US console so I can get my hands on some 60Hz goodness
I would normally modify PAL consoles but this SNES has to much nostalgia attached to it.
That’s enough about me, I look forward to chatting with you all.

OfflineWelcome Rob. Good to have another Englishman’s point of view on this site. I have never sampled the Saturn and unfortunately I never knew anyone who had one either. For me the SNES is tops with the Megadrive or Gamecube a close but definitive second. Mario All-Stars is amazing despite it effectively being a collection of NES classics. It’s timeless and I recently put myself through the pleasure of (once again) going through all four games on the cart. I’m going to consolepassion for my 60hz mod when I get paid next, think I might pay the extra and get a full switch-less one to allow play on StreetFighter:Zero, Mario RPG, Oshaberi Parodius and a few others that are notoriously awkward.
Have a good look on the forums, I’m sure you’ll be able to contribute a fair deal and there is a friendly group of people here already.
